TRANSCENDENTAL TEACHINGS OF MAHARISHI BHRGU The following are words spoken by Maharishi Bhrguji on the occasion of Siva-Ratri, in February 2010........ Sri Sukraji, with folded hands, asked of Bhrigu Maharaja: “Please say the name of this planetary combination, and, according to the devotees’ mental bhava, what are the effects?” Sri Bhriguji said: “Oh son, all auspiciousness to you because you ask for the welfare of all beings. This auspicious phal will be found on Friday, the 14th day of Phalguna Mas, on Maha Shiva Ratri. The name of this is “Akhanda Jnanik Rasa.” This auspicious rasa is tasted by the knowledgeable, self-satisfied transcendentalist. But in Kaliyuga, to obtain this nectar and knowledge can only be done by following the Guru’s instructions and obtaining his full mercy. Guru seva means to bow down to the Guru and to question him politely. To devotees who follow the instructions of mine, I bestow this pleasing rasa in their hearts. This is impossible to obtain by the conditioned soul. The best religion is to follow the Guru’s instruction, to get his mercy, and to surrender and take shelter of the Guru. It is of utmost importance to follow his guidance. Oh Shukra, my vachaka (Snehaji) is very dear to me because she follows my instructions, which I am very pleased to give her. She is endowed with fearlessness and empowered with benevolence. My instruction is to celebrate the coming Rama navami day on the bank of the Ganga. I see that there will be many unseen difficulties in doing this, and I know that only very rare beings will follow this. It is very important that all devotees should participate fully in the functions on festival days, and should eat little. My place (Hoshiarpur) is for spiritual benefit. It is not a place for joking, socializing or entertainment. On the fourteenth tithi, the day prior to Guru Purnima, devotees should take the following ausadhi—soak 100 leaves of bilva, ashoka, and arjuna each, in water with 100 dips of silver and 100 dips of gold. Also add haldi and malkagni oil; take this during the brahma muhurta (before sunrise) and in the evening, take bath in Ganga jal. On the next day of Guru-Purnima, take the vow to do Kanya Puja for a month. These will bestow all auspiciousness and unlimited mercy upon you. Because people in Kali-yuga are selfish, ignorant, and miserable, they may ridicule My instructions. They thus destroy their own destiny. One who is completely surrendered unto Me, following My instructions, will obtain My mercy. They will feel it within and see it with their own eyes, and will continue to get mercy in the future. As an insect in a poisonous fruit cannot obtain the sweetness of fruits like grapes and dates, or as a bug is immersed in cow dung—people forget their soul’s natural tendency to taste rasa. How can my devotees experience such rasa, if they continue to taste the bitter fruit of the material world? Conditioned souls who have been “enjoying” the material world for millions of lives, cannot give up sense gratification. On the contrary, my true yogis and sincere devotees, who follow my instructions with minds fixed on me—they discard the low quality happiness of this world and increasingly experience transcendental bliss in higher tastes. One is santa rasa (peaceful neutrality), which is obtained by association with Guru and Bhagavan. Next is jnana-eka rasa, which is not highly elevated but brings joy in the oneness of spirit; and finally there is ananta rasa, which is unlimited mercy, which the true devotees are most eager for. The significance of the four principle dhamas in India is connected to a devotees’ internal inspiration for pilgrimage, not that he or she goes because of ritual or someone else’s encouragement. One simple and best way to liberation is to recite the holy name of the Lord to a dying man, even if he does not want to listen. There is nothing more auspicious than this. My auspicious blessings to all devotees who are participating, or who have helped others to join, in this pilgrimage to Kasi for the Katha of the Holy Name and of Lord Shiva. The Satsang and Prasad distribution at this place is witnessed by me for the whole day. I am seeing everyone’s mind and heart. Oh Sukra, it is intolerable for me to see my devotee in distress or in loss. It is my desire that all devotees remain completely surrendered to me and be united by Hari Nama. O Sukra, this is a divine yoga; more and more people and more family members should participate in this. On Raksha Bandhan day (Aug. 25), do Satya Narayan puja, with sankirtan, with full feeling. It is very auspicious. On Guru Purnima day and on my appearance day, perform a special festival with nama sankirtan. On those days, do not have desire for any phal.” . Words about Bhrguji from Nalini...Maharishi Bhrigu is an eternal personal associate of Lord Krishna, a guru of many great personalities such as the Pandavas, and a progenitor of mankind. His spiritual abode is hinted at by Sri Sanatana Goswami, who says that “the bhajan (worship) there is indescribable,” and by the Srimad-Bhagavatam, which describes Bhriguji’s home as “worshipable even for the saints who are transcendentally situated” (Bhag. 2.2.25). My guru, His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, mentioned in his scriptural translations that “any gentleman must be interested in astrology,” and that “the perfection of astrology is found in Bhrgu-samhita.” Obviously, if one experiences this divine source, and if one follows the path Bhrigu outlines, one’s material and spiritual lives are greatly benefited. This is a divine and devotional exchange between you and a great mahatma, not material astrology meant to satisfy whimsical desires. God has not left us in the dark, though we chose to come to this material world. He has appeared in a variety of forms, at many times and in different places, to bring His parts and parcels back to the normal condition of the soul in sat-cid-ananda (eternal, knowledgeable and blissful) existence. Bhrigu Maharishi appeared during the advent of Lord Krishna 5,000 years ago. At that time, Bhriguji’s text, which uses the vehicle of astrology but is really dictated through His spiritual vision, was spoken to His son, the divine Shukra. The book, spoken for the many whom He saw hearing His words over the next thousands of years, was carved in stone in the Himalayas. Two thousand years ago, those words were written down on papers, which are kept with great care in Hoshiarpur in the state of Punjab in Northern India. A saintly lady named Sneha Amrtanand lives there and translates the words of Bhrigu for us. For those interested, you must visit the center in India or meet Snehaji on one of her travels. It may take time, even years, to find your reading, but it happens when the time is right or when Bhrigu reciprocates with your prayers/desires. Please do not ask Nalini to obtain your "reading" for you. This is not ordinary astrology or "nadi" astrology of India. These are direct words of the Godhead Himself, and they are revealed in the heart of one who approaches with, and follows the words with, faith.
